Highlights from our Rise Reserves
No more sad salads. Our Antonet Lettuce seed pods sprout a magnificently colored head of lettuce that’s light green at the core and maroon along its frilly edges. Along with a showstopping look, it gives you the unique option to “cut and come again” — meaning, you can harvest the outer leaves and then come back again for your next meal.
Once you pop Fresh Bite Peppers into your salad, you won’t be able to stop. We’ve introduced Capsicum annuum, otherwise known as Fresh Bite Orange Peppers, into our seed mix. Fast growing and compact, they are perfect for indoor gardening, and the only pepper you’ll be able to grow year-round. In addition to their sweet flavor and nice crunch, they provide a vitamin boost: orange peppers have 10 times more lutein and zeaxanthin (essential for good eye health) than any other bell pepper.
Growing tomatoes in your home year-round is a treat. And with Kitchen Mini Siam Tomato seeds, you can do it fast. These cherry tomatoes may be small (hence their ability to grow quickly) but they still pack plenty of flavor. Slightly tangy, well balanced and perfectly sweet is the name of the game. Prepare for many happy salads ahead.
Solanum melongena, or Patio Baby Eggplant, is quite possibly the cutest eggplant to grow in your Rise Garden. It’s traditional tasting (think: deliciously spongy), yet is a fourth of the size of a standard eggplant. One plant will give you bushels of tiny eggplants that will be a treat for any lasagna or pasta dish. Or, simply grill them up! As an All-American Selection winner, it’s a true palate pleaser.
Sweet Leaf Stevia is a native plant to Brazil and Paraguay, where it’s been used for more than 1,500 years by the Guaraní people. Stevia is actually 300 times sweeter than cane sugar — yet, surprisingly, has no calories. We’ve selected this variety for our Rise Reserves because of its delectable flavor. Use its rich green leaves to sweeten drinks or add to any recipe in place of sugar to offer a uniquely healthy way to sweeten your life.
