Next up in our series is our engineer, Brandon Bay. Brandon is our human centered design engineer from Northwestern University. He takes a multidisciplinary approach to make all the disparate parts of a Rise Garden work together. Prototyping starts with him.

Why did you choose to work with Rise Gardens?

Build a complex, user-centered, electromechanical device from scratch? Sign me up!

How has Rise Gardens changed how you are eating?

I cook with homegrown celery and rarely need to buy greens!

Tell us about your gardening experience.

All of my gardening knowledge was gained through osmosis at Rise. Before that, I had only raised some questionably-healthy succulents.

Coconut milk-based curries

Do you have any special secret talents?

How do you spend your free time?

I DIY whatever I can with tools/materials I collect in my studio apartment. During normal times, I am also a ferocious thrift shopper.
