The Gardens
A countertop garden for herbs and greens, or a floor-standing garden that grows from one level to three. Both have built-in full-spectrum LEDs and the free Rise app.
Over one hundred varieties
Genovese basil and Buttercrunch lettuce for every day. Everbearing strawberries, edible flowers and the varieties few grocers bother with. Over one hundred, and the collection keeps growing.
Seventy-two percent of our growers say they simply eat better now. Meals get fresher. Grocery runs get shorter. And what is on the plate is something you grew.
Growing notes, seasonal recipes, and a first look at new varieties.

The Rise Gardens App
The garden runs its own lights and watering. The free app handles the rest: what to plant, how much to feed, and a reminder when it is time.

The Rise Garden grows vegetables, fruit and herbs indoors, year-round, in water instead of soil. Grow up to 108 plants at once and up to 15 lbs of produce a month. Lighting and watering are automatic, and the free Rise app for iOS and Android helps you plan and care for every plant.
Hydroponic growing replaces soil with water. Roots draw water, oxygen and measured nutrients directly, so plants grow efficiently in a controlled indoor space.
There is no soil, so there are no weeds to pull and no soil-borne pests or disease. You pick produce and eat it the same day, instead of days after harvest and hundreds of miles from where it grew. And the garden grows all year, whatever the weather.
Yes. The garden handles the variables that trip up new growers: lights run on a schedule, the reservoir feeds the roots, and growing indoors keeps most pests away. The free app adds step-by-step guidance, care reminders and growing calendars. Many of our most devoted growers had never gardened before.
Leafy greens such as Buttercrunch lettuce and Bloomsdale spinach, herbs including Genovese basil and cilantro, fruiting plants like cherry tomatoes and shishito peppers, plus root vegetables, legumes, strawberries and edible flowers. Over one hundred seed pod varieties are available.
Less than a soil garden. Top up the water reservoir and add nutrients when the app reminds you, and prune now and then. Most growers spend about five minutes a week.
Beyond modest water and electricity use, the ongoing costs are seed pods and nutrients.
Growing indoors needs no pesticides, and food grown at home skips the trucking between farm and plate.
Leafy greens such as lettuce and arugula are ready to harvest in about four weeks. Fruiting and flowering plants take longer, depending on the variety.
